How Domain Transfers Work

Acquiring a premium domain doesn't have to be complicated. We handle the entire process — from initial outreach to final setup — so you can focus on your business.

A simple 4-step process

Every domain transfer follows the same secure, straightforward path.

1

We reach out

We identify a premium domain that matches your business and contact you with an offer.

2

We discuss

We discuss pricing, timeline, and answer any questions. No pressure, no hidden fees — everything is transparent.

3

Choose your payment method

Pay in full through Escrow.com or GoDaddy, or spread the cost with GoDaddy's lease-to-own program.

4

Domain is yours

We help you set up DNS, email forwarding, and website redirects. You can be live the same day.

What is escrow and how does it protect you?

We use trusted escrow services — Escrow.com and GoDaddy — to protect both parties. Here's how it works: you send payment to the escrow service, the seller transfers the domain, escrow verifies the transfer is complete, then releases payment to the seller.

If the transfer doesn't complete, your funds stay in escrow and are returned to you. Neither party takes on risk — your money is held safely until the domain is in your account, and the seller is paid only once the transfer is verified.

How does a domain transfer work?

The current owner provides an authorization code (sometimes called an EPP code or transfer key). You initiate a transfer at your registrar — GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, or whichever you prefer. The transfer typically completes in 1 to 5 business days.

We guide you through every step. If you've never transferred a domain before, that's completely fine — most small business owners haven't. We'll walk you through the process and make sure everything goes smoothly.

What about my existing email?

Your email doesn't have to change. You have several options depending on what works best for your situation:

  • Keep your existing email provider and add the new domain as an alias or additional sending address
  • Set up forwarding from the new domain to your existing inbox — emails arrive at both addresses
  • Gradually migrate to the new domain at your own pace

Nothing breaks. You control the timeline and we help with the technical setup.

What about my existing website?

You have multiple options, and we support all of them:

  • Redirect the new domain to your current website — the easiest option, works instantly
  • Move your entire site to the new domain — we help with the migration and set up redirects from the old domain
  • Keep both running during the transition — take your time and switch when you're ready

We work with whatever hosting and platform you use — WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Shopify, or custom setups. The goal is zero disruption to your business.

What if I want to lease instead of buy?

GoDaddy's lease-to-own program lets you make monthly payments while using the domain immediately — email, website, everything works from day one. At the end of the lease term, you own the domain outright. It's a great option if you want to spread the investment over time without waiting to start using your new brand.
